BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY ... ini bukan review

Salam and good day.

Been a while, but here I am again. Two weeks ago, I finally got to watch 'Bohemian Rhapsody', two years after it was released. Sad, but it's been ages since I've set foot in a cinema. Thanks to Astro, I finally got to see it.

I recorded the movie and I watched it over and over, and it breaks my heart every time. All their songs came back to me one by one, songs that I grew up with. Memories of my late brother, who introduced me to Queen when I was 10 or 11, singing along to 'another one bites the dust', 'Fat Bottomed Girls' and 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. My brother was a big fan of 70s and 80s rock, and, needless to say,so am I, and I am still Queen's number 1 fan.

Memories of my days studying in the UK in the 80s, scrambling to the common room to watch 'Top of the Pops', going into record shops to buy their 'A kind of Magic' album and watching 'The Highlanders' a few times because of Queen, and also because of Christopher Lambert, in that order. The movie brought them all back to me.

I love the movie, mainly because I love Queen and I adore Freddie Mercury. Rami Malek, did a great job of playing Freddie. The movie doesn't have any hi-tech special effects or any great fighting scenes in it. It's just a simple story, with great acting and awesome music. What else do you need?

I was in England in 1985, so, I know about the live aid concert, and I can relate to the excitement of that time.I breaks my heart, every time I get to the 'live aid concert' scene at the end, seeing them perform the best live rock concert ever, knowing, six years after that, Freddy Mercury would die.

I guess I'm still mourning for the loss of someone so beautiful and so talented.

RIP. Love you always, Freddie Mercury..

here is the video of what is still known as the best live rock concert ever, from youtube.

There I was on a July morning
Looking for love
With the strength
Of a new day dawning
And the beautiful sun...

DREAMING...tell me

Salam and good day,

Here is my all time favourite song, First heard it when I was at university, ages and ages ago. Heard it again this morning. Brings back so many memories. Anyway, enjoy!

Dreaming... tell me - Yngwie Malmsteen

Shades of night, fall upon my eyes
lonely world fades away
Misty light, shadows start to rise
lonely world fades away

In my dreams your face is all I see
Through the night you share your love with me

Dreaming visions of you
Feeling all the love I never knew

Here we are on the crossroads of forever
Shining star lites the way
Walk with me on the winds of time
Love's mystery is for us to find

Dreaming visions of you
Feeling all the love I never knew

Until that day
Until the day I find you
I won't rest,
I won't let go
Somehow Someway
I know I'll be beside you
To warm my heart
and fill my soul

blast from the past - LEVEL 42

Salam and good day,

I was browsing for songs to use in my critical thinking class when I stumbled across Level 42 - Something About You.... needless to say, I was immediately transported back to the 80s. I have forgotten how much I love this song...
No matter what others might say, I love the 80s... for me, it is the best decade for music with Level 42, Culture Club, George Michael, Depeche Mode, Tears for Fears, Duran Duran, the Pet Shop Boys, Wham, Cindy Lauper, Maddonna, Johnny Hates Jazz, Nik Kershaw, Howard Jones, Tina Turner, and rock bands like Van Halen who actually had an album titled 1984, and Bon Jovi's Slipperry When Wet, Def Leppard's Hysteria and Prince's Purple Rain ,to name a few.

and, this particular song is deeply moving and mellow and nostalgic. it magically transported me back to the 80s, rummaging record shops looking for the single, running to the common room to watch Top Of The Pops... and it still sounds so good.  Enjoy.

PERIHAL PENANDA BUKU DAN BUKU TELEPHONE

Salam and good day.
Saya suka menggunakan penanda buku. Jika saya menggunakan module atau buku untuk mengajar juga saya tandakan mukasurat dengan penanda buku. Itu bagi saya sesuatu yang biasa namun tidak bagi pelajar2 saya. Sewaktu penanda buku saya terjatuh, mereka melihatnya dengan expression ' she's still using a bookmark?'
Agak lucu melihat wajah mereka... lalu saya berkata....
never seen a bookmark before?
Mereka jawab ... yes we have.
Ok... i take it you don't use this kind of thing.
Mereka jawab ... no.
That would be a real shame.
Dan ... yang paling penting... berapa ramai yang tahu apa kaitan diantara dua gambar dibawah... LOL...

GUESS I'LL ALWAYS BE ....

Salam and good day.

BLAST FROM THE PAST- ya, saya masih ingat kau

date: 14.03.2010
location: Rajawali Art Gallery, Kuantan

gembira berjumpa AJ setelah lebih 20 tahun tidak bertemu. baru saya tahu siapa sebenarnya Abdullah Jones. sebelum ini saya cuma tahu dia salah seorang kawan arwah abang saya, yang sering lepak dirumah kami sewaktu muda2 dulu. tapi saya tak tahu kawan yang mana satu, dalam fb dan blog pun tak pernah ada gambarnya... dan dia sendiri juga tak mahu beritahu saya siapa sebenarnya dia...not fair...dia tahu saya, saya tak tahu dia...

sangat curious saya mahu tahu identity nya. maka kami cuba set date untuk saya ke studionya...tapi beberapa kali (maksudnya banyak kali, ok) tak jadi, sebab AJ sangat busy orangnya...jarang ada di kuantan.

at last, hari semalam dia kata dia free, maka, loaded with curiosity and excitement...hehe, saya ke studionya di Cenderawasih...tak jauh cuma 15 minit dari rumah saya...
