A POISON TREE

A Poison Tree

I was angry with my friend:

I told my wrath, my wrath did end.
I was angry with my foe:
I told it not, my wrath did grow

.And I watered it in fears,
Night and morning with my tears;
And I sunned it with smiles,
And with soft deceitful wiles.

And it grew both day and night,
Till it bore an apple bright.
And my foe beheld it shine.
And he knew that it was mine,

And into my garden stole
When the night had veiled the pole;
In the morning glad I see
My foe outstretched beneath the tree.

    A Poison Tree A Poison Tree

    I was angry with my friend:
    Ako ay nagagalit sa aking mga kaibigan:

    I told my wrath, my wrath did end. Sinabi ko ang aking galit, ang aking poot na poot did end.

    I was angry with my foe:
    Ako ay nagagalit sa aking mga kaaway:

    I told it not, my wrath did grow Sinabi ko hindi ito, ang aking matinding poot ay maging

    .And I watered it in fears,
    . And I natubigan ito sa takot,

    Night and morning with my tears; Gabi at umaga sa aking mga luha;

    And I sunned it with smiles, At ako sunned ito sa mga smiles,
    And with soft deceitful wiles. At sa malambot madaya wiles.

    And it grew both day and night, At ito lumago ang parehong araw at gabi,
    Till it bore an apple bright. Hanggang sa isang kalibre ito apple matalino.
    And my foe beheld it shine. At ang aking mga kaaway beheld ito magningning.
    And he knew that it was mine, At siya, alam na ito ay mina,

    And into my garden stole At sa aking hardin estola
    When the night had veiled the pole; Kapag ang gabi had veiled ang mahihirapan;
    In the morning glad I see Sa umaga natutuwa ako makita
    My foe outstretched beneath the tree. Nakabuka ang aking mga kaaway sa ilalim ng puno.
